Steel Structural Draftsman

As a Steel Structural Draftsman, you'll be the vital link between our esteemed client's engineering vision and tangible structural designs. Here's what the role entails:

• Collaborate closely with the Lead Structural Engineer to align on project phases, activities, and timelines, ensuring seamless coordination throughout each assignment.
• Interface effectively with project managers and the engineering/design department, harnessing the power of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor to translate concepts into comprehensive structural details and layouts.
• Partner with the Structural Engineer to craft precise structural steel drawings encompassing diverse elements such as steel layouts, connection details, industrial walkways, and more, adhering meticulously to engineer instructions.
• Execute the client's vision with precision and efficiency, aligning with project managers and the engineering team to deliver results on time and within budgetary constraints.
• Contribute proactively to the evolution of our structural CAD standards, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our burgeoning structural department.
• Remain flexible to tackle any additional responsibilities delegated by the Project Operations Manager or Lead Structural Engineer, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to project success.

To thrive in this dynamic role, you should possess:

• An Associate Degree or Technical degree in CAD Technology, Engineering, or Engineering Technology, laying the groundwork for your expertise in the field.
• A solid foundation built on 4+ years of hands-on experience in structural design, demonstrating your proficiency and commitment to excellence.
• Mastery of Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD, spanning both 2D and 3D realms, to bring structural visions to life with precision and finesse.
• A natural aptitude for structural nuances, ensuring every detail is meticulously crafted to meet exacting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel, to facilitate seamless communication and documentation.
• Bonus points for specific experience in drafting/design layout for large industrial equipment and processes, showcasing your versatility and specialized skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a keen ability to take direction, enabling smooth collaboration and task accomplishment.
